about

Belles & Thistles can design your wedding wherever your imagination takes you.

Designers Emily Hasler Kunaschk and Jenn Morissette founded Belles & Thistles Floral Design in 2011. With more than 40 years combined experience in both wholesale and retail settings, our continued passion for the floral industry brings us together as a fresh new force in Chicago-land, Northwest Indiana and Milwaukee weddings.

We are traveling florists; we do not operate out of a brick and mortar flower shop. Instead we combine our affordable elegant style with the flexibility to design stunning events wherever our couples need us, from beaches and barns to mansions and Michigan Avenue.

Our ‘Have Flowers, Will Travel’ approach allows us to keep our overhead costs reasonable, which translates into savings for our clients. Our flowers arrive fresh, just prior to each event so everything always looks just-picked perfect, and whenever possible, we source blooms from local flower farms and sustainable growers.

We can create anything from classic traditional florals to one-of-a-kind contemporaries to whimsical rustic arrangements. Above all, we provide gorgeous, quality products at an affordable price, tailored to our clients’ individual styles. Belles & Thistles has a passion for weddings and a love for collaborations with great people. We use color, texture and attention to detail to make our events as personal as possible, and as unique as each couple.

Belles & Thistles Floral Design is a full service wedding and event florist.  We are equipped to handle all of your event needs, from the bridal party to the aisle runner, to cake flowers and candles. We also offer a full range of services including delivery, installation and late night services, as well as rentals from our extensive inventory of structures and decor.  Often, clients prefer to provide their own glassware or accent details, so our couples are welcome to provide any decor items they would like, and we’ll be pleased to incorporate them into their event!

With Belles & Thistles no two weddings are the same. We want this special day to be a true reflection of our couples, so after an in-depth consultation we’ll create a completely custom menu-style proposal for each and every event. We know budget plays a huge factor when choosing vendors so we outline personalized options and provide a range of price points so that our clients can pick and choose the designs that best suit both their tastes and budget. Let’s make an appointment to talk about how we can bring your wedding floral dreams to life!

We love Halloween, Lemonade & weddings!

FAQs

HOW FAR DO YOU TRAVEL?

We service the midwest, primarily Illinois, Indiana and Wisconsin, but our events have also taken us to Ohio, Iowa, Michigan and even Florida.  So it’s safe to say we’d travel to any location that is within a reasonable drive from Chicago. And we’re always up for an adventure, so we’re open to the possibility of long distance travel, too!

HOW MUCH DO WEDDING FLOWERS COST?

We offer a customized menu style pricing system, you pick and choose from a range of items to control your budget. Many of our options are available in a range of prices, Good, Better and Best, which provides a lot of flexibility in building your floral order. On average B&T weddings range from $3,500 to $8,000, but we can certainly accommodate those with higher or lower budgets.  We want your wedding flowers to be beautiful, but we also want you to afford your happily ever after!

WHERE ARE YOU LOCATED?

We do not have a retail store. Instead we work from fully equipped design studios in our homes, at event locations and all across the midwest.  A roadside boutonnière or two has been known to happen.

Credit Card, Chase QuickPay, Zelle, PayPal, Personal Checks.

25% non-refundable deposits are required at time of booking, with the balance due in full 4 weeks prior to the event.

We always aim to be fair to all concerned, so in some cases partial refunds may be issued to the original payee, but would be determined on a case by case basis.
